Word order (A1)Georgian grammar · A1

who + what + verb

Who — what — verb

English word order is strict: subject, verb, object. Georgian is freer — the verb's person markers and the case endings already show who's acting and what the action is aimed at, so moving words around is usually not a mistake.

A safe default

Start with this order: first who acts, then what the action is aimed at, and the verb last — "I coffee drink." The glosses under the examples show this order word for word.
